Being the most populous in the state of Nevada, Las Vegas had 89% hotel occupancy for the year 2018. There were 38.85 million visitors that came to the City of Lights last year. It was a slight dip from 39.01 million visitors last 2017.
There were mixed results in the economic activity of Clark County during 2018. While employment increased by 3,700 jobs last September, the number of visitors declined during the same month, falling by 3.4% year-over-year. The outlook for this year is positive for Nevada. Indicators that support this are booming employment and population growth, strong consumer spending, and increased taxable sales.
