Voted “Best of the City” Best Plant Nursery in Las Vegas by Desert Companion Readers in 2014
Check out Cactus Joe’s Las Vegas Nursery. The owner has a great passion for plants. The nursery has a wide range of cactus nursery and desert garden. The area is filled with endless desert plants like agave, ocotillo, yucca, succulents, cacti, and native Nevada plants.
They are Nevada’s best and largest authorized retailer of Joshua Trees. The Joshua tree is a slow-growing kind and is named as such because of its unusual shape which will remind us of the Bible story in which Joshua reaches his hands up to the sky in prayer.
They also offer the most colorful, interesting and creative artsy crafty iron works, pottery, outdoor decorations like rocks, gems, and minerals. They even have some of the most unusual outdoor benches/furniture and statues.
What’s interesting is they have a rustic chapel for intimate wedding ceremonies and have collaborated with a great team for extraordinary and memorable nuptials. They would be more than happy to host your ideal wedding at their property. The chapel is not that big, but the nursery is enough to host a large number of guests.
Reviews from TripAdvisor, Google and Facebook are mostly 5-star ratings. See what some people had to say about the nursery:
“Another great hidden gem in the desert. Cactus Joe is on site and very helpful and friendly. Plan a good hour to truly walk through this desert oasis. Many types of things to see and very educational for kids and adults alike. A must see for anyone planning outdoor landscape or decorating. Love this place.”

“This was one of the coolest nurseries I have ever been to, and in my opinion, they’re the best cactus shop here in Las Vegas. We found plants here that I have not been able to find anywhere locally for years. If you’re a rock nerd you’ll be impressed with their huge rock selection. I suggest taking the scenic route through Red Rock because, while the drive out may be long, it’s gorgeous and absolutely worth it.”

“If you want to see every type of cactus and learn about the unusual ones… This is your place. Very enjoyable grounds & staff. While they do have a LOT of cactus & pots, there are also a number of geodes, petrified woods, glass for the garden and a great little gift shop with locally made jewelry.”

They are open daily from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. So if you are taking a trip through Red Rock Canyon, dropping by at Cactus Joe’s is definitely worth a stop. Even if you are not planning to buy something, it is worth visiting for a day, especially with friends and families.
