A bunch of locals took advantage of the opportunity to shred sensitive files at the BBB Shred Day held last April 27 at the BBB Office. The annual event spearheaded by the BBB of Southern Nevada offers not only a convenient way to eliminate confidential information but also to raise awareness about the importance of information security.
Mobile shred trucks shredded various items at the event such as credit card statements, canceled checks, medical documents, and legal papers.
Free shredding only applied to the first ten boxes of every participant. After that, shredding cost $10 per box.
All proceeds of the event went to The Blind Center. It is a non-profit organization that creates opportunities for citizens who are blind.
